The star has given the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound award cash to the MVT, which operates to preserve the UK's independent concert spaces.

Fender was awarded the award on October 16 as his third album the album was chosen as the outstanding release of the last 12 months.

Fender has decided to donate the funds to the trust, in recognition of the essential function grassroots venues played in his beginning days.

"I wouldn't be doing this success if it wasn't for all the performances I played around the area, and elsewhere, when I was just getting going," said Fender. "These spaces are renowned, but they are facing challenges."

From early 2023 onward, more than 150 of these venues have shut down – approximately 16% of the total UK scene.

In the last year, top acts such as Pulp, Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Sheeran have all supported the Music Venues Trust in its initiatives to help venues survive, by adding a modest fee to their ticket prices, which goes to help independent venues.

He also participated, collecting in excess of £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to assist thirty-eight local spots across England, Scotland, and Wales.

These funds assisted spaces that were facing imminent closure due to issues arising from water damage, fire incidents and personal losses, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and noise complaints.

Some locations received monetary aid in modernizing amenities and gear that positively impacted musicians and concertgoers.

"The notion that money from performances in large arenas supports the independent spots, where it all starts for artists like me, is just logical," the star has stated.

He is far from the only musician to contribute his award prize money to charitable organizations.

Back when Pulp won the trophy in the mid-90s for their record their work, frontman Cocker announced that the band would contribute their cash to the non-profit War Child.

During 2002, rapper and singer the artist shared her bounty among a few organizations, including the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell charity.

"And I gave a thousand pounds to the center, to their gymnastics program, because I did gymnastics when I was younger and they needed new equipment," she shared with a publication.

Previously, the band donated their prize money to the local youth club that nurtured their band, as well as other independent music bodies.

Also the 1994 recipients M People gave their award to a multiple sclerosis charity after a acquaintance was diagnosed the disease.

"The victory was sufficient," said artist Small. "The money was the bonus but we could do without the cherry, because we had the cake. So our winning touched somebody else's life."

In the past week, the trust announced it had saved a couple of local spots in the South East, by transferring them to local control.

The first in Southampton and the second in the city were acquired under the Own Our Venues scheme, which is supported by the arts council and enthusiasts who buy "stakes" in the venues.
